It has been a long while since I posted to my blog, for that I apologize and certainly not as I planned. But tonight I am prompted to share an email to someone I ministered to regarding “Prayers.” The question that was raised was;
ARE PRAYERS THE KEY TO SUCCESS?
Instead of just answering with a Yes or No, I’ll leave the Holy Spirit to answer this question to your heart. Here is goes;
While prayer is certainly part of having success, it is not the main key to success. Before you get troubled about what I just said, let me ask you a question.
Do you ever wonder why some prayers are answered by God and some are not?
We have to remember that God is “God” and He can not lie or deny His perfect character. He has to do what is according to His “Perfect Will” because He is a Holy, Just, and Loving God. The fact is key to prayers is really KNOWING the Perfect WILL of God. In short knowing His Heart and become One with His purpose. For us to be in perfect Union with Him by knowing Him. We have to have an intimate relationship with Him by studying His Word the Bible, hearing His voice as it speaks to our heart, seeing His Will, believing Him and then obeying His commandments that we maybe able to walk in the spirit so we may become one with Him and so our Father in Heaven may hear our prayers and grant us our request.
Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15). And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps His word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in Him: whoever says he abides in Him ought to walk in the same way in which He walked (1-John 2:3-6).”
Therefore our hearts have to be transformed to His likeness and we have to be one with Him by abiding in Him.
So how do we abide in Him and have our prayers answered?
Listen and meditate to what Jesus said in John 15:4-11, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
There are plenty more scriptures about how God answers prayers. But the true KEY to answered prayers I believe is by being “One With God” in heart, mind, and spirit that we may do His Perfect Will and Purpose.
